Life on Mars? (1971)
David Bowie
"Life on Mars?" is a song from David Bowie's 1971 album Hunky Dory. An eccentric and innovative musician, Bowie's legacy includes many references to Space in his music but also in his persona, Ziggy Stardust. Sometimes compared to a Salvador Dali painting due to its cryptic lyrics, "Life on Mars?" was ranked number one in 2015 in The Daily Telegraph's list "100 Greatest Songs of All Time".
Sailors fighting in the dance hall
Oh man, look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man, wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?
